BlockedThe name's Guarez because in spanish their species name is Lobo Guará / Aguará Guazú ?

MemberThis is a reasonably old character, and I don't remember the exact thought process behind the name. But that definitely had at least part in it, yes.

MemberSmall correction. "Lobo Guará" is the portuguese name. The spanish name is "Aguará Guazú".
Curiously, the word Lobo translates to Wolf in portuguese, while the word Aguará means Fox in spanish. Also curiously, the maned wolf is neither a fox nor a wolf.

BlockedMy bad, you're right. I don't know why I thought in Bolivia they were known as Lobo Guará. By the way, Fox in Spanish is Zorro. Aguará means Fox, too, but is part of the Guarani language.
