She had to go out, and quickly - whatever was on the other end of that talking box she had, it sounded loud. Urgent. Had to grab her bag and run out the front door.

Tonight's the night. How long did I spend in the bathroom, staring into the mirror, trying to get the illusion just right? Staring at her face? Enough to make my legs hurt, standing up so straight. And it took ages, putting all those photos back. But I had to make it perfect - her stupid straight hair, the slight, odd angle of her nose, the way she always pursed her lips in the most annoying way.

Things had been good before she came along. Just him and me. Oh, just him and me. Why doesn't he see it...?

But tonight's the night. I didn't bother with clothes, not even making an illusion of them over this fake body. So I'm just going to stand here. By the front door. And listen for...

There. The growl of an engine, rumbling to a stop. The jangling of keys...

Don't say anything. Don't take too long. And Arceus, whatever I do, don't lose concentration. Keep it up. Don't let him know...
