I imagine that in the 'Furry universe' where Furries evolved in nature, there's actually a genetic sub-system that determines how the same individual's 'multi-nips' will be genetically expressed. o. o in some cases across the mid-torso because the individual is anthropomorphic in stature, in others across the lowest part of the front of the torso because they're the features from a non-Anthropomorphic creature! "Control genes" would be very, very handy for implementing 'toggles' like this. and then you'd just see that one side is more common than the other depending on the species, just like how crotch-teats are more common in deer and cattle whereas multi-nips on the mid-torso are more prevalent among canids and felids. ^. ^
