As someone who has researched and presented upon Spotted Hyenas, that is indeed a she. Also comment above mine is from the artist. Who also seems to know how it works with them.

Males aren't that long either, regardless the artist didn't emphasize any of the specific differences between the two sexes so without his word determination would be impossible.
