Guessing they heard someone coming and had to disappear asap. Barely had enough time to grab their own clothes. I imagine it's not TOO weird to see forgotten swimming clothes around the pool, too, so I could see why they wouldn't be *super* alarmed by his pants being left there.

Honestly, I'd have just waited for them to leave. It's not like they're going to stay there for hours :p
