Yeah, but the tags are used to sort pictures based on the assumption of zero prior knowledge about the involved characters. Information in the character's backstory may indicate that the two are a gay couple, and I am sure that you are telling the truth, but there is no evidence in the picture, thus it is not tagged as such.

If they were hugging, kissing, holding hands, having sex, touching eachother in any way, etc. then I would tag it as gay. And I am sure they are gay. But if you look at the rest of the pictures tagged as "gay", you will see interaction as such.

Guys, I'm not commenting on the sexual orientation of the picture. But you can only tag pictures on this site based on the CONTENT of the picture. Yeah, it is obvious that they are gay, but they are not actually doing anything that involved their homosexuality. So we cannot tag it as gay, even though the two characters are.

Simple as that.

Oh for fuck sake...how is this so difficult to understand. There is NO sex going on in this image. The gay tag ONLY applies to physical homosexual acts you actually see happening. For instance, if there were an image of a gay character fucking a female, it would still be tagged as straight even if you KNEW the character was gay.

Just saying, the "tag what you see, not what you know" is pretty stupid when carried to the extreme, like here. The SPIRIT of the law is that you're supposed to be tagging what people looking for that tag would enjoy seeing. Pretty positive that any person looking for gay artwork would enjoy seeing a picture of two naked men, with erections.

I can certainly understand the confusion regarding whether or not the "gay" tag should apply here when following the "tag what you see" rule. It's not a perfect rule (there isn't one, trust me), so situations like this are bound to come up when the artwork just doesn't want to fit right in whatever artwork categorization system/rules we may be using.

For this particular post though, I would say that the "gay" tag should apply. Although we encourage the use of the "gay" tag for situations in which actual homosexual activity is depicted, I think the scene in this image is "close enough" to meeting that requirement, given that it's suggested in the picture that the mouse's erection is caused by seeing the other character's erect penis, or perhaps the entire situation is arousing to him. It's enough to make me think that it's properly tagged if it has the "gay" tag, so I'll add it on there.

I'm sure people will come behind me and say "what about all these other pictures that should be tagged with 'gay' then?" and all I can say is that we have to do things on a case-by-case basis. Again, I'm not saying that what I've said here will definitely be applicable to other images of this nature in the future, I'm just saying it's how this particular image should be tagged.
