They're both still women. Having a pussy doesn't immediately mean you're a lady, my guy.

I think it was more the usual confusion about the "tag what you see" system.
They're not so much saying they're not women as that the tag system is solely about genitalia, not gender representation. A gynomorph can be any gender, but they're always tagged as gynomorph because they have a penis and a traditionally feminine figure.
However, because we can't see their junk, their traditionally feminine features/appearance immediately mean they're tagged as female, regardless of their unseen genitalia or intangible gender identity.
Just because we know they both have penises, doesn't mean we can tag them as such, because the penises are not depicted in this image. The tagging is solely about the image, not the characters actually depicted in it.

It's not a perfect system, but it's the one we have.

  • "I've only had dawn for an hour and a half(?), but if anything happened to her, I would kill everyone in this block and then myself." - Sunny, probably

If I'm not mistaken, they have some (lore) tags to help keep things sorted.

That is true now, yes! And it is a decent compromise.
But I think at the time of that discussion it either hadn’t been fully implemented yet or was still new, and I wasn’t familiar with the lore tags.
