serious question: does the artist actually say the character Joss is trans male an not a tomboy? I see the tomboy comments here like the user's have a problem with that (which is where my question comes from), but did i miss something in this comic about that detail? or is this just left to speculation based on the story from the readers own imagination an perspective?

I can't find it for the life of me but I remember reading the artist detailing that Joss is a trans man. Artist even mentioned the mastectomy scars on Joss's chest, saying they prefer to draw them as just two subtle ticks rather than obvious scars.

In comic, the characters also mention that Joss prefers he/him.

He is very expressly a trans guy. It's detailed earlier in the comic before he gets naked that it's a big source of his trepidation with getting naked with everyone else, and he and the others even have a discussion about his gender.
