  • is there a name for the previous evolution topping their next /final stage evolution?
because there is something so satisfying about seeing this play out
(say like a Chameleon topping a charizard)

I suggest a new tag is in order. How about "evolutionary_difference"

    There is level_difference.

That works well for some situations, but not all of them. Yes, the level_difference tag would work in this situation. However, one should remember that some pokemon don't evolve with higher levels, they evolve with a special item, or some other condition (the eeveelutions are a good example of this). But obviously, there is no perfect solution, I just felt the "evolutionary_difference" tag idea needed clarification. And if I am incorrect in this assumption, don't hesitate to correct me.

The tag's wiki explains that it refers to characters of different "evolutionary levels". So it's more of a general wording than referring to how they actually evolve.
