in someways the themes and general world-building that seems to be a throughline through some the works seems interesting

and some actually interesting stories could be told in such a fucked up world

A good rule of thumb is when someone on e621 tells you not to look up something, believe them. Don't give in to the temptation, because you're almost guaranteed to greatly, greatly regret it.
