It was probably leaked, since it's not on any of their official public accounts.
While I disagree with the "merchandizing other's IP's" thing, I understand why you feel that way.

I did guess it was a leak after looking at the artist's public art because it is high res and not watermarked, though as far as I know the artist doesn't paywall, releases art after a month or so. The artist however doesn't seem to have a gallery except Twitter and I really don't feel like scrolling +1000 posts to find it

Despite my stance on this I'm not going to just link it, e621 wouldn't really like that, but if you read what I said it shouldn't be a difficult process to find that image
