MemberDoesn't the fact that it's not only a color edit, but a brand new lineart kind of negate that? This image was drawn natively at the resolution that I uploaded it as.
Jovo
Memberyea, you gotta be pretty blind to not see this is completely new lines.

MemberCrazy rule, literally just restricting the quality you're allowed to upload in, but whatever

JanitorYeah, this would be insane. This is fine as is.
Could you point to me where this is said?
Versperus
JanitorWhelp, I'll admit when I was wrong.
Versperus
JanitorSorry, I'm use to seeing simply blown up images. And wasn't completely aware that the guidelines shifted for re-done linework.

MemberIt's all good man, not often you run into internet arguments where someone admits fault and everything's actually resolved lol

JanitorFor better context, we do get a lot of uploads daily and these do include edited and traced material.
In vast majority of cases where someone takes another artists work, it can be stuff like linework ran trough waifu2x and then bucket filled or tracing over the linework so that they can alter it to be their own character and bucket fill easier, etc. Also I swear whenever I see tom_fischbach post with copy-pasted nipples and pencil tool vagina I want to strangle somebody.
We have pretty much kept near zero tolerance on artificial upscales and traces, simply because these are inferior quality versions of stuff we should already have.
At least I personally see this post as simply continuing from original artists work. I can't count this as edit as everything has been reworked and only part where content could've been upscaled was during creation, it shouldn't matter here anymore. I can't count this as trace either because like said, there has been alterations and improvements made to linework as well, instead of carbon copying it and I do not see any malicious intent to hide original artist either, which is usually main purpose to do trace.
Even if we approve these, if you don't have consent to make these, these can original artists really upset and they can always file takedown here and DMCA elsewhere, so do keep that in mind.
However in future, if the originals are on this site, please put the ID of the original post in parent post ID field when uploading and also disclose this information in description, more transparency in cases like these is always great so that our users don't think that you are trying to hide original artist and take all the credit. You do also seem to be having huge problems with tagging, you can take look up how original post was tagged to help with that. If you tag your uploads like you did this one, you will get into trouble for that.
