To clarify, I do like the picture, I do like wyverns. It's just that Smaug is not true to the source material this way. And personally, I found him more impressive in the early cinema cut where he still was a dragon.
So, not sure where the dislikes came from. It's okay to like this version of Smaug and it's okay not to like it.
