Well, no, in some cases like in ratbats storys, you can still get inside a dire machine, it would still have seats and all and a spot for a pilot/operator and the likes, but things like the engine and adv computer stuff would be covered in nanomachine growth, take ratbats german ww2 tank for example, in the story, the tank had 2 guys inside of him, his officer, and some other guy who loaded the munitions into the tanks cannon. The name of the tank escapes me, i think it was called hanz
