    Anubis is EGYPTIAN.

    -Sama is JAPANESE.

get yer fuckin shit right, bitches.

    TECHNICALLY
Anubis is the GREEK bastardization of this god.
The Greeks got confused and fused two gods into one.
Anpu (Opener of the Ways) and Upuate (Weigher of the heart)

    So yeah... know your history.

Considering this god is holding an Ankh and a sacred staff this is Anpu.

    Sexy Anubis-sama!! <3

A more culturally appropriate form of address might be «Ⲡ⳪» (Ποϲ, Pos) or «Ⲡⲁ⳪» (Παοϲ, Paos) which is Coptic & means "lord" if I'm not mistaken. I'm just not sure which is the right grammatical case. So «Ⲡ⳪ Ⲁⲛⲡⲟⲩ» (Ποϲ Ανπου) in Coptic or «Κύριος ὁ Ἄνουβις» in Greek. «Κύριε» would be the vocative case for direct address in Greek.

So Anubis is just the Greek translation for 2 different gods, put into 1? That really turns my entire perspective upside down... So who exactly IS Anubis and who is he supposed to be?

No need to be confused, the individual who posted that may be the one who is confused. There were two gods who became associated with each other and have been sometimes confused for each other, but they weren't called by the same name deliberately. Anubis (Ἄνουβις) is the Greek name for Anup (or Anpu, Inpu), a god of embalming, usually depicted as a jackal or jackal-headed man. Wepwawet (Ουπουαούτ) is the name of the "opener a ways", a god of war, but later also associated with funery rites. He is usually depicted as a wolf or wolf-headed man. Ambiguously, depending on source, they are either both sons of Osiris, or both sons of Set, or Wepwawet is the son of Anubis.

  • Dear god, you people can't even handle weeaboos without exploding in argument.

    もう、あんたらはダメだねw。

Personally, I suggest using biblical terms and such for veneration. Or like suggested above, use Greek or Egyptian or something.
