This guy totally sucks. 2/3rds of his characters WALK with poorly drawn over-sized testicles, because I can't possibly fathom any other way of the characters actually moving from point-A to point-B without testicle-treads. Either that or they have a forklift carry them around.

The guy hasn't a fucking clue on how to shade or apply any sort of detail to his "art". Not to mention his anatomy is the worst I've seen yet, and I've seen some pretty bad anatomy here on e621. However the other artists know how to make it appealing, Doug Winger just tries too hard. If you can kill a small child with your over-sized penis, AND make it look good then you have truly achieved something.

If you want to see shit from a good artist, with TALENT, try searching for strype or kacey.

Anyhow I believe I already covered this in my post. Since you are simply incapable of reading beyond one sentence you probably wouldn't know that. Yeah it's fantasy but the guy has absolutely no talent and it shows. I've seen artists that can make GREAT fantasy and make over-sized inaccurate anatomy look incredibly fucking sexy. Mr. Winger is NOT one of those artists, Winger is NOT bringing back the sexy.

as much as i love to jump into furry/art drama, i'll keep it short this time by expressing only 3 points :

1 - any complaint that a furry drawing is "anatomically inaccurate" is thrown right out the window because it is a drawing of a fictional character. this includes any lame arguments about "hawhaw, now she's dead because she can't fit a horse in there!", etc. it can't be a simpler concept to grasp than : the subject matter does not and can not exist in real life, and is not constrained by real life.

2 - as much as people like to throw winger under the bus, i'll argue that he is actually a VERY accomplished artist. what some people seem to be mistaking is him adopting a style of drawing, for him not being able to draw anything "more". go look through his old stuff, and he's got some anatomical work that would rival most other artists in the field. his new stuff is much more stylized and while not as "technical" as some old stuff, is still very high quality compared to the dregs that normally get posted here.

3 - who cares if the guy is a jerk? most artists i run into are pretty much either mopey emo ass holes, or pretentious fucks. but don't mistake him being condescending for him not knowing what he's talking about. the guy has put out more art than most people on this board, and is certainly notorious enough that he is more well known than pretty much any other artist. if being a bit snarky or a jerk comes with the territory of EVERYONE in the genre knowing who you are, so the fuck what.

Well seeing as how every other person has put in their two cents whether they be good, bad, or just useless rants, I'll put mine in too. Sence I have no drawing ability (You can tell this becuse I have never posted any work) I find his particular style to be very good in its own unique way and as RaiN WolF said ""Untalented", he is not -- far from it. There's better than him, but many more who are far worse.". I share the opinion and for people like NakomisXI who think that I and others haven't seen talent look through my faves I have people with huge, small, and meddium amounts of talent. If there is some other argument you wish to throw at me please do.

i think the fundamental point that sonrisa and some others fail to understand is that all furry art is not "fantasy" art. i completely agree with sonrisa's opinion about anatomy being important, but there is a huge and important division between somebody who is trying to do "realistic fantasy art" (ala boris vallejo), and somebody who is doing their own artistic style...

winger's new stuff is so blatantly cartoony in nature, that i'm always surprised when people try to lambaste it for being "inaccurate". that's akin to saying sponge-bob square-pants is horrible because it doesn't accurately reflect the anatomy of a sponge.

Maybe you should just respond to the meat of my comment,, that this is fantasy, and this image, unlike all the other images you are referencing, doesn't seem to have macro dicks or any other significant anatomical issues.
