While getting lost in the Dalmascan Westersand while looking for Vaan, Penelo inexplicably begins to transform into a Earth Tyrant. Upon completing her transformation, she spots Vaan who appears to have gone through an identical transformation as his mind becomes completely feral. Penelo tries to flee while battling her new instinct to breed with Vaan, only for him to overpower her and start mating with her. This causes Penelo's mind to break and surrender completely to her feral side as the former friends become just another pair of Earth Tyrants.
