Sheer(a.k.a. Frustratedsquirrel of InkBunny a.k.a. ChillySunDance of DA), "My contribution to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers, mission 8. This is my first ever attempt at a full colour comic, and something I've been working hard on over the past half month.

In this task, in-fighting between the merchants has lead to a standoff between Anana and Shroomsworth, the latter of whom refuses to leave the merchant guild HQ until Papaya returns. Anana claims that as Papaya's sister, she owns the entire guild now and believes that her sister will not come back. Unable to move Shroomsworth and his friends on her own, she enlists the aid of the Rogue guild to 'forcefully' evict the Tao merchants.

Sundance and Rowanhardt take this as an opportunity to seek revenge against Shroomsworth and Sandy, and gladly work together with Dmitri to carry out the task.

To further appreciate the dynamic between Sundance and Sandy, particularly on page 14, it helps to know a bit of background concerning Sundance's old gang leader, Slasher. Slasher was a Weavile bandit who caused trouble for the merchants and lead a group of young boys whom he manipulated into doing his dirty work. Many of the younger sneasels, Sundance included, fell for his lies and saw him as a leader figure. What they didn't know was that Slasher tended to kill off any who grew old enough to challenge him, and was more interested in using them as meatshields than looking into their wellbeing.

Slasher ended up getting into a fight with Shroomsworth and was subsequently killed by Sandy, who intervened on the battle and delivered a fatal bite to Slasher's neck in order to save Shroomsworth. The gang disbanded with most of the young sneasels joining either the merchant guild or the rogue guild, but many remained loyal to Slasher even after death. Sundance resents the merchants for this reason, idealising Slasher in his mind as a kind, caring leader figure, and naturally he considers Sandy to be the monster who took his leader away from him.

Slasher's ghost currently works as a tailor, attempting to make up for his wicked deeds in the past, but Sundance doesn't know about this yet.

As for Rowanhardt, he has business to settle with Shroomsworth, which is fairly straightforward."
