Vermillion is a very enthusiastic Scorbunny with a unique fur mutations. Raised by the town he was hatched in. Koji's father, Kojiro, found Vermillion while revisiting the place his friend/rival & Cinderace died to protect. Noticing her unique red mark, He began training him to continue her legacy as a great fighter. Hyping his son up to Vermillion, he sent the scorbunny off to partner up with Koji.

Some people have dreams of greatness. Koji has none of that. Unlike his karate king father Kojiro, Koji prefers watching battles and games. Despite his fortune of stumbling cross enough pokeballs to fill a chest, z-crystals, and a mega stone. He had very little luck battling or catching Pokémon until Scorbunny. Who would help him save & befriend a Riolu(Bones). Who in turn helped him catch others.
Both of which catching the attention of one powerful lone Passimian(Burry). Who follows Koji due attraction to Bones. And curiosity toward Vermillion because he reminds him of an amazing Pokémon that beat him easily.
