Series: Community Punishment Program

The controversial new "Community Punishment Program", or CPP, has been launched today, amidst protests at City Hall. The groundbreaking new project was developed by scientists at the Padded Institute for Diaper Research, and was adopted by the city following Mayor Musuko's landslide victory in the polls back in June. Warden Seti addressed the press today, announcing "a new dawn for law and order in our city; criminals will be humiliated, wannabe criminals will be deterred. I have every confidence in the power of this program, and will personally be escorting the first group of prisoners on their rounds today."

Facing criticism by numerous furkind rights movements, Mayor Musuko has issued a statement; "If you don't like it, don't commit crime! Simples!"

Accompanying the CPP bill, the "Civil Misbehavior Act" also comes into force today, creating new minor offences, including; littering with intent, annoying a police officer, standing in the wrong place, excessive displays of attractiveness in public, and conspiring to criticise the Mayor in print media. The new offences will be punished, the Mayor has said, with the punishments included in the CPP. The Daily Fur and its staff support this new legislation wholeheartedly!
