On the forums, you're not allowed to discuss taking submissions/commissions due to the no advertising rule. Also it's just kinda a dick mood to flood the forums with "pay me to draw your favorite kind of penis"
With that in mind. If you wanted to find an artist on this site that does commissions you would need to browse posts. Then click on one art style you like, hope it's been posted by the artist themselves so you can see their username and contact information. Then message them and hope they respond. It's quite a tedious process and bumps can come along the trail at any point thus stopping you from finding out if the artist even does commissions.
So with this in mind.
Why not create another part of the site (similar to the "posts/comments/notes/artists/tags/pools") At the top, maybe next to "contact" or "Forums" built for artist who want to advertise their ability to take commissions or take free requests.
That way the very large community of E6 can very easily communicate with eachother about whos taking submissions, whos taking free requests. And who doesn't take any requests at all.
This addition of a board specifically set up for artist and commissions would be helpful to both parties. Example:
The artist:
Gets to advertise their commission status, which means more income for them, more practice. Whatever it is they want to get out of it. And it means more content for the site as I'm sure most commissions would end up in the "post" section. - More content for the site = more people learning about it and more people using it.
The commissioner/request(er):
Gets the content they want to see, easily obtains information about who is taking requests for free or for money and gets to see a large variety of art styles and prices so they get what they want without having to search 17 websites to do it.
So what do the admins think of another part of the site built to serve those needs?
Here is a picture of what I had in mind, tho I'm no web designer so it's probably shit.
