Body fat absorbs testosterone and produces estrogen. It can also absorb estrogen and produce testosterone. It tends to absorb whichever of the two is in greater supply.

Puberty is triggered (in both male and females) when the obligatory volume of both estrogen and testosterone is present. Without a certain level of the "opposite" hormone, puberty will not trigger. Thusly, Females require a certain level of testosterone, and males require a certain level of estrogen.

Body fat, with it's property for converting one hormone into the other, has a tendency to cause puberty to occur earlier by producing the obligatory "opposite" hormone.

i think his reasoning is that they look more viable at a younger age. IMO (read that you fucks, my personal opinion for my personal self don't get butthurt over it) is that the even if the child hits puberty at 5 (yes i know it says 7 im making a point), it's still not mature enough to consent at such a young age

Okay, NOW I can feel inclined to believe it. If that's the case, then it definitely makes sense... America's the most obese nation in the world(and constantly getting worse), so I can definitely see that as a good possibility.

When a child is 13, you think nothing of them being attracted to another 13 year old... then when they are 14... then 15, and still attracted to 13 year olds... then 16... and soon you have an adult which has never evolved their sexual attraction beyond what they initially became attracted to as a child.

This seems to occur especially with individuals who become sexually active at a young age, AKA in the 6-12 range, which appears to stunt the natural aging of their sexual desire.

However, unlike my prior endocrinological explanation, this is pure speculation, as I have no real experience in psychology.

I'd read an article a few years ago on a student who was heavily influenced by the works of Harry Stack Sullivan. In that article, the guy was speculating that a number of pedophiles develop their unbreakable attraction to children because they never formed true attractions to begin with. A part didn't mature because it didn't have the chance, and will continue to try and experience it even after a "successful attempt". The actions were not child-like to match the relationship that the pedophile was trying to attain.

That is, because the person is aged and adult, the efforts to become a child will never work, and as such they will almost always perform adult acts. There's actually a very good study (wish I had the link handy) that showed that pedophiles that showed the best recovery and least recidivism, were ones that got to interact with people at the childish level. Building blocks, LEGOs, etc. Re-imparting a childhood that in one way or another just never clicked completely.

Back on topic: For almost ten years, it's been known and pointed out that our current diets are making us mature earlier, and live shorter. The fat intake and the calorie intake, when combined, produce results counter to what we need to live longer lives, if not healthier lives.

Now, to combine these two bits together, a particular fear that could be is that these children aren't going to be able to build real childhoods anymore, and will end up pedophilic themselves, through no fault of their own.

well, if the underaged looks of age, it won't seem as bad to want to have sex with someone who is underaged. so some closet pedo's might decide it's ok to express their pedophilia. that, and what the other person said about the early puberty people developing an attraction to ones of the same age group, and not being able to grow out of it. in other words, you liked 8 year olds when you were 8, and now that your 21, you still like 8 year olds.

As a guy, I'll just say that it's a hormone thing. That said, my personal "too young/creepy" cutoff these days seems to be around 20-ish, which is well past the age most girls "blossom", so I get what you mean that at the very least it would seem creepy if the accidental pedo rate increased as a result of girls hitting puberty at earlier ages.

because they don't look underaged. we judge age by looks, and find out little things to tell females ages.
so lets say some guy meets what he thinks is 18. she is actually 15. he asks her out on a date, and she says yes. by the end of the date, they end up at his place, and do it. he finds out later that she's 15 when her mother calls.

Pedophilia is not about the age of the targets. It's about them not being past puberty. Someone who looks at a 14-15 year old who looks about 18 is not a pedophile. A 7-year-old with developing breasts is NOT a target of sexual attraction for actual pedophiles.

Like i said, there are several levels of pedophiles. And if a person is attracted to and hunting out 14-16 year olds, he's just as much a pedophile if he's hunting out 12-13 year olds, or 8-12 year olds, or 3-7 year olds, or 1-3 year olds.

Which as best I can tell are the rough "categories" of pedophiles. Halfway-through puberty, just starting puberty, pre-pubescent, child, and infant.

but another thought. i'm sure there are a few artist who love prepubescent children, but don't draw cub porn, because they're afraid to ("go to hell fucking pedo!"). well, if more people are starting to like 7 year olds (early puberty) perhaps they will find strength in other artists who draw 7 year olds (early puberty) and draw their own art. Pedophilia is a very specific thing: attraction to prepubescent children. Attraction to people halfway through puberty is ephebophilia, not pedophilia. Attraction to people in the early stages of puberty is hebephilia, not pedophilia.

Hebephiles are not pedophiles. Ephebophiles are not pedophiles. The classifications you mention do exist, but they are not subsets of pedophilia.

As a general rule, I do not suspect pedophiles go around thinking "Oh, the child is halfway through puberty, therefor I am an ephebophile! Not a pedophile!"
