This tag doesn't serve any purpose, it seems to just be used for explicit pictures. I don't see a use in tagging actual adults either, so I'd say we alias it to invalid_tag.

Let's not be so hasty. First check to see if any of the images fit the criteria for the mature tag. If some of them do, then change the "adult" tags on those images to "mature", then nuke it.

I thought that mature implied older, while tags like young and other, more unsavoury tags implied implied younger, and that all other people/furs were vaguely in between, or 'adults'. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That sounds like you're trying to put a post's ID number in the Parent Post ID field when trying to upload. You should only be doing this if you're wanting to create a parent/child relationship between an existing post on e621 and the new post.
If that's not what you're wanting to do, then leave the Parent Post ID field blank.
