Implications:

blue_socks -> socks
grey_socks -> socks
pink_socks -> socks
purple_socks -> socks
rainbow_socks -> socks
red_socks -> socks
striped_socks -> socks
white_socks -> socks
yellow_socks -> socks

knee_highs -> socks

I have a yellow sock fetish, why would you deny me quick access to them?

I get that indirect. At first I was just going to propose the last three but then I said "whatever in the worst case they will reject the coloured ones"

Those color tags aren't especially useful, but since the users keep tagging them... I suppose implicating would be better than keeping them separate.

Or maybe we should just alias all those colored socks into socks?

Since people apparently search the colour of nipples or penises I assume people would actually search for coloured socks too. If we implicate them all anybody searching socks will still get all the socks and then people can still search for coloured socks. idk. Makes a little sense, who are we to take away results from sock fetishists?

Saffron is right. The coloured socks as every other coloured tag are there to help searching posts. Like me a few days ago searching for post #550
-I searched for feline and got 635 pages.
-Added female and got 381 pages.
-Added white_fur and got 24 pages.
-Added yellow_eyes and there are just 3 pages.

On a more serious note: while I agree that having color coded socks is a bit superfluous, mostly, there are a few exceptions in my book:

1. Striped socks. These tend to be either black-and-white or rainbow-colored and worn by specific characters, mostly goths or walking pride flags. Sure, you can find those easily by simply searching for goth or rainbow (though the latter is a lot more broad), but I still think they're distinctive enough to warrant their own tag.

2. Rainbow socks. For reasons mentioned above. There are people who search for these specifically, and I'm quite sure that's more than just two random oddballs a year like you'd expect with green_socks or something alike.

3. Thigh highs. These absolutely SHOULD NOT be aliased to Socks. This one has been tagged to almost 3000 posts and many of them certainly do not feature a character wearing anything resembling conventional socks. Surely enough, some of them are stockings (which in such a case is somewhat oftenly tagged as well) that one could see as lengthened socks, especially the cotton variety. So perhaps a stockings -> socks implication could be usable there, but that largely depends on how you view these that are rather omnipresent here, too. They're stockings as well but I wouldn't call those socks, personally.

But thigh highs in general come in a wide variety of forms, a wide variety of materials, including leather and latex, and certainly all of those are more meant to be kinky lingerie rather than practical foot and legwear.

Heck, some do not even go around the foot to begin with. Really, that's just no sock. ;)

These should be implicated imo

They don't stand out as much as the ones that need to be implicated :I

It does seem like a case of tag clutter to me.
I'm sure there are sock fetishists, but sock color fetishists...?

It's a lot of effort spent on tagging things that nobody might ever search for.

I already said it's not because a fetish but to help while searching a post.

Most posts are missing even the major color tags, such as the body and fur colors.

Sock colors are currently tagged for maybe 0.05% of posts. I kind of doubt that those will ever be tagged widely enough to actually be useful for searches.

Then in place of doing our work we will just erase it.
You can delete all those colour tags today but tomorrow there will be newcomers applying those tags again. And old users that use those tags will still be using them because most of them doesn't read this thread.
So I suggest aliasing them to "colour"_legwear (i.e. pink_legwear for any pink sock, thigh high, knee high, etc.)
