While I know this probably doesn't come up often enough to justify it's own tag (and already has a better alternative, namely pools), I thought it would be worthwhile to get some feedback regarding use of the tag.
To me "animated", in general, implies movement or life. A post like post #455869 (explicit) being labeled animated comes off as both somewhat misleading and not what I'm looking for in the first place. Furthermore it doesn't seem to follow the general purpose of e621's tagging system (find only what you are looking for).
I have seen this before, usually as .gif files of two or more derivative versions of a single picture (different facial features, one with visible orgasm, etc.), some even having been uploaded that way by the artist.
So far, I have thought of the following actions that could be taken (in no particular order):
- Attempt to agree on a tag for the handful of posts it applies to (barely_animated? slideshow?)
- Remove these posts and force them to be posted as pools instead (definitely no chance of conflicts happening here)
- Do...well nothing (it is really of extremely little importance anyways)
I only offer this as a talking point, I am not suggesting that anything should be removed or anyone banned or that it is even a real problem.
Give me your thoughts.
