Make it an implication instead, mugs are a type of cup. The difference is minor, but it is being applied mostly correctly from what I can see. The mugs are all straight-sided and have handles, and the cups usually re a different shape or don't have handles.

Sure if it suits better I guess but is it really worth keeping the two as separate tags though? That's the only doubt I have and the reason of why I chose alias instead.

Yeah I really don't see the point in keeping the distinction between such an utterly minor element of a picture.

all mugs are cups, not all cups are mugs, and it's such a minor difference that I say alias as well.

I disagree.
Mugs are typically designed for holding hot liquids.
This distinction can be integral to the theme of an image.
Morning coffee, hot cocoa in the winter, all visual elements relating to a mug, not a cup.

And then I throw in the support cup

First line, "A mug is a sturdily built type of cup..."
Yeah they're typically made for drinking hot beverages, but so are coffee cups. You hear them called coffee cups far more than you hear coffee mugs, even if it is a mug. I really don't think the inclusion of a handle is really worth the differentation of mug from cup for our purposes... Though, if we do keep it, I'd recommend an alias to coffee_mug specifically to ensure that steins are appropriately tagged separately.

I think we might as well keep it and maybe alias coffee mug the other way around, so as to not immediately imply what is in the cup. I know that it's just referring to the cup/mug itself, but that may be confusing to users tagging hot cocoa in a mug as a coffee mug

...Is coffee_mug actually a tag? I was just bringing it up as an example idea to make it more distinguished.
