Topic: Allowing AI art but restricting human-made art that "isn't good enough" is crazy work.

I will never get this snobbish attitude of sites like e621 and rule34 xxx. Who cares if you see some crude stuff? I'd rather see arms of inconsistent length than the ugly repetitive coloring and lack of focus in AI art.
Edit: this seems to a problem with rule34 xxx more than e621, as I don't see AI art here, but alas, still BGs. A low-quality photograph in the background is still better than a high-quality AI background, as photography is still a human visual art.

AI pictures aren't allowed on e621, except as background elements in the same vein as photograph backgrounds. Our focus is on human-made art.

From the Uploading Guidelines:

  • AI Generated content: No AI generated, or AI assisted artwork.
    • Exceptions are currently for backgrounds (treated like using a photo as a background, quality rules apply); for artwork that references, but does not directly use, AI generated content; and for audio in video posts such as WebM]

That's a relief. I almost went 'panik' that the rules had changed. xD

Me when I blatantly lie, there are better ways to help your argument buddy...

No, AI art isn't allowed here.

If you have a serious accusation to make then build and submit a case instead of leaving vague posts like this, please.

AI is not inherently evil for art, and that's coming from me, someone who absolutely detests generative AI used by lazy folks.

Like Claw said, AI backgrounds are fine if used in the same vein as photograph backgrounds. Sometimes, there literally just isn't a photograph background available for a certain thing you had in mind; say, a forest with a floating island in the background. As far as I'm concerned, this is the only acceptable time for it in art – as use for background elements that are not main focus points.
