I still don't super dig the mythological_creature tag. it seems like a designation that isn't super necessary.
in addition to that, I don't really know if the modern understanding of a zombie even really fits with the zombi from Haitian folklore, most of the time. I feel like in most cases these days zombies are the results of some contagious sci-fi viral/fungal/whatever infection rather than the results of necromancy.
A zombie is a mythological creature in the same way that a ghost is a mythological creature. This is technically true but I don't know that it's good for searching.
If this is Haitian mythology, then imply that. If this is some stateless modern mythology, we might want to look into ways to roll this up with other contemporary inventions.

And who's searching or blacklisting the tag? It has 732k posts, which is more than 1/8 (13.9%) of all active posts on the site
With tags this big unless people are actually using them they just function as bloat

my main problem is that it's just almost identical to mythology, other than that tag contains deities and other individual figures. mythology at least has the marginal utility of it and its wiki being a parent tag for multiple mythologies from multiple cultures that a user could browse. mythological_creature and its sub tags are just: "Hey, wanna look at a bunch of random fictional birds or something?".

I still say it's a mistake for werewolf, dragon, gryphon, and the like to imply mythological_creature/mythology directly or indirectly. There's a big difference between a dragon representative of real mythology and generic dragon OC #84199.
