Topic: image size replacements

Posted under General

more curious than anything

went to upload some stuff off of pixiv, but noticed it got replaced with versions that have higher image sizes
how would I get higher resolutions off of the bat ? to skip the whole mass replacement process being a thing

See howto:sites and sources, specifically for Pixiv.

I'm guessing you had simply right-click and open image in new tab, rather than clicking on the image first to enlarge it then opening in new tab.

Or right-click and hit Open Link in New Tab. Or click on the image with the Middle Mouse Button to do the same thing.

To double check, look at the end of the url of the new tab. If the url before the file extension ends with _p# where # is the position of the picture on the gallery page, starting from 0 (so every page at least has a _p0 picture), then it's the original version hosted by Pixiv. If the url ends with _p#_master1200, same logic with the # (eg. _p0_master1200), then you've got a sample version instead of the original.
