Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: candlelight -> candle

I think candlelight should only be used then the candle is visible. Otherwise, the light source is unknown: it could be a lighter, a match, a lamp or even magic fire.

How can you tell it's candlelight? The first is contextual but the second could literally just be a fireplace.

The second could just as easily be contextual if a previous comic page showed the inside of the room, lit by a candle, but this page only shows the window from the outside. The readers will KNOW the light is from a candle even without the candle being visible.

This is quite literally the exact opposite of how TWYS works

That's what I was meaning to argue, you need context clues to infer it's a candle. I don't know what candlelight means if the candle isn't visible.

Would you imply moon to moonlight or sun to sunlight, even though there are many examples where the origin of the light is not directly visible?

I wouldn't, because moonlight/sunlight are 'clearly' emanating from the sky. Those 2 examples of orange, radial gradient light doesn't scream candlelight to me. If the source isn't present it could be an oil lamp, or any other light source.

The tag kinda has a cozy vibe tho so ig it's valid in that sense for searching
