I believe snuff is when a character gets pleasure from hurting, torturing and/or killing someone; or simply the act of seeing others die or suffer in often gory and/or life threatening ways that can evoke arousal in the viewer. Imminent snuff can be from example a character about to be gutted by another that has a boner, a nude character about to be hanged, a torturer preparing their tools while dirty talking the soon to be victim...
Imminent death includes all kinds of deaths, like a character about to fall from a cliff, a character getting shot in a war but not yet dead, someone in a car about to crash...
So imminent snuff shouldn't imply or be aliased to imminent death as snuff doesn't require the character dying. If anything, it should simply imply peril.

It was my understanding that snuff is specifically getting sexually aroused by death.
