Topic: What do i do when i didn't mean to finish editing a tag and didn't mean to undo it?

Posted under General

I saw a post where it had no male/male in it and went to edit it and triend to say way but my phone thought i pressed "send" when i didn't and i tried to see if i could edit my reason on why i was editting the tags on the post but my phone thought i pressed the "undo" button and the change was gone. Even while typing this the touch is being dumb.

So is there a way i can edit the reason why i change the tags reason and is there a way i can dm a staff saying "hey i did't mean to do this"? Sorry for this weird fourm

You cannot edit the edit reasons, but it's not necessary. You do not need to explain mistakes to anyone either. All you need to do is to just correct whatever you messed up, and that's it.

Ah ok and thanks. I just don't want to seem like i am messing with tags and posts and etc.

If I make a mistake I usually just fix it with a "Whoops, meant to do this instead" as the edit reason, or similar. Mistakes happen. Just be sure to fix em.

If it's a change to a single tag or a few tags, it's usually pretty self-explanatory. It's never a bad thing explicitly state your reasoning, but it's not the end of the world if you don't do so, & we see people correcting their mistakes all the time. Us moderators are humans after all; we'll look at the context to determine whether or not an edit is malicious. Besides, like I discussed here, you're not getting in trouble for occasional error, especially if they're fixed without requiring our intervention.
