Reason: A while back I discovered the humanoid_structure tag and raised it for discussion. Reactions were mixed, but I think it does have potential use as an umbrella tag, so I'd like to put it to a formal vote. I'm changing the name to "humanoid anatomy" because that makes the meaning clearer.

(plantigrade and the various non-mammal_* tags are excluded because those features are not unique to humans, though there may also be value in an umbrella tag for non-mammal_*.)

I think this is way too vague and generic to be any actual practical use.

I don't see how it's any moreso than the other humanoid_* tags.

All the other humanoid_* tags point to a specific body part, that could be searched if the user desires.

Meanwhile, a humanoid_anatomy tag is extremely vague (i.e., could mean body type, limbs, etc.), needless as an umbrella tag, and opens up opportunities for misuse (i.e., simply being mistaken as an alternative for humanoid).

I'm not convinced it's needless as an umbrella tag. I can see users wanting to filter it out, and filtering all the humanoid anatomy tags individually is a hassle.

The confusion with humanoid is a fair point, but there's been discussion about needing to rename that tag for a while now.

humanoid_anatomy sounds too vague, and could apply to anything that appears somewhat human-like.

making humanoid_anatomy pointless by implication (at least humanoid_feet is somewhat reasonable, as digitigrade paw-like feet are more common to see on anthros, unlike hands which keep a more human-like shape with five fingers and opposable thumbs much more often). When would an anthro (or humanoid) not have humanoid anatomy, and when would a non-anthro/non-human(oid) have humanoid anatomy?

I've also seen people trying to tag canine_anatomy, an equally vague tag that seems to be equivalent to just tagging canine or canine_genitalia. How far would this go?

It took me like 2 minutes to find these. Drawing hands with a paw-like structure rather than humanoid is, in fact, a thing people do. Please make the slightest attempt to search for something before declaring it nonexistent.

I think fictional artwork has enough variation in finger/toe count to make them relevant tags, unlike two_eyes or one_tail.

Note that the tag is humanoid hands. Human-like, not strictly human. Hands can be human-like with 4 or less fingers, as long as the shape and articulation is roughly human-like, which I'd argue the first and third examples are. Just like a humanoid_penis doesn't need a visible glans and urethra or be covered in skin to count, as long as it fits the general shape. Something like handpaws would be non-humanoid hands, which I can see fitting the second and fourth example, but those are the outlier, something different worth tagging, rather than the norm that applies to the majority of anthros and humanoids.

Huh, didn't know we had that tag. I was actually going to suggest making a tag for the exceptions since humanoid hands are so common, but it seems it already exists. Fair enough, then.

This still raises the question of what to do with the humanoid hands tag, though. There is also humanoid anatomy on feral.
