The bulk update request #12340 is pending approval.
create alias ambrosia (128) -> ambrosia_(disambiguation) (0)
create alias penance (71) -> penance_(disambiguation) (0)
Reason: There are multiple characters each with either of those names.
I plan on replacing them with ambrosia_(bear) and penance_(bear), since it's more specific.
Don't forget to move the disambiguations to the Invalid category.

I think ambrosia_(bulletsoup) and similar for whoever created/owns Penance would be better, in case there's ever another bear with the same name, or they're drawn as an alternate_species/not a bear.
they appear to have character owners, BulletSoup and Skunkworks respectively.
(although the wikis/implications of those two artists here appear to say that they're the same person, in the description for this post containing the two characters BulletSoup seems seems to say that they're two different people, the attributions at the bottom of the image also state the two owners of the characters.)

It's best to assume the Penances are two different characters, methinks. If Hardiman was behind both names, he certainly went through a lot of effort to keep the names separate. We might as well respect his wishes, especially since he imitated a frog a few years back and croaked, so we can't really ask him about them.

I mean, it wouldn't be the first time where I was wrong about two different artist aliases belonged to one person... in the last few weeks.
