Cute, what do most people use that for? Things they find cute. This tag is similer to "hot" as far as how people are using it. Ive been seeing user's tagging images of overweight furrys having Sex as cute, ect ect. Its a personal preference tag. Confusing at best, can cause drama at worst.

Ive been removing them from these types of images, when I hear the word cute I picture a kiss, or some fluffy cuddly creature like fluffle puff or a tribble maybe a chibi or something not someone who's overweight

Also nightmare fual is usually terrifyingly scary pictures, but what I'm referring to is cute. Now like I said there was a time the tag hot was being used to tag images people found sexy arousing ect not hot as in fire, temperature or sweating same can be said here. If the tags kept the way it is, I could go to the nastiest picture and tag it cute and I may get yelled at but if I found it cute.... (get what I'm saying now?)

I don't see anything wrong with the cute tag. It may be a bit subjective but I'm pretty sure we can agree on what's cute or not. We even have a wiki for it

I'm almost certain that this very alias was suggested before and it was denied. I could be wrong, but I don't know. For what it's worth, I'm against this alias.

Against it, but if it does get removed, things like Nightmare_Fuel, cute and so on should be put into a pool or set similar to what Danbooru has.

On the wiki (which was after the last time we deliberated on this I believe) that was the definition for cute, things that are considered generally universally cute- Yes, it's still subjective, but it's less so than just one person's opinion, and uses the chibi and super fluffy things of cuteness like fluffball kittens as appropriate mascots.

In short, those images were improperly tagged.

yep, i know. same thing happened with hot, and a couple other tags. they invalided those becuse people kept using it wrong. in this case its shads who keeps adding it to spesificly that character.
figured i would ask incase the admin decided its more trouble then its worth. after all we arnt supposed to use subjective tags, but sometimes they approve of them.

Night Esme, and as for hot, it's understandable that it got invalidated because people were using it to mean sexy, so it was massively muddied; using a term such as 'uncomfortably_warm" or somesuch would be much better because it can't be misinterpreted.

Ippiki didnt say there is anything wrong with discussion. He just mentioned "this discussion again" as it has been spoke about before and it was decided to keep the tag.

Just had to nip another fat fur shad thinks is cute image. He just keeps tagging her (see links in erlier posts) as cute. Grrrr...

Yep, that tag is definitely overused.

It could use some major cleanup, but count me out. There's 14500 images to sort through, and I've got more than enough projects already.

I think cute is a ridiculous tag, there's probably going to be at least somebody that finds each image here cute. nightmare_fuel however is a lot less subjective, because most people can tell when something would probably scare somebody.

The tag is beyond worthless, searching cute is highly unlikely to ever give results that the searcher actually finds cute because it's so subjective.

The tag is not worthless. The cute tag has brought a lot of cute images to my attention before a few users started to abuse it.

it's not my decision. if we were ever going to get rid of the tag, we would have done it by now. just because this has been brought up a million times before doesnt mean this will be the discussion that ends it. this is one of the cases where the functionality outweighs the abuse potential.
