Topic: [BUR] unalias different Mario Bros. games tags

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #12311 is pending approval.

remove alias super_mario_bros_2 (0) -> mario_bros (45957)
remove alias super_mario_bros_3 (0) -> mario_bros (45957)
remove alias new_super_mario_bros (0) -> mario_bros (45957)
remove alias super_paper_mario (0) -> paper_mario (4026)

Reason: Instead of having these aliased to the main mario_bros tag, have them aliased to the tags that actually refer to each title.
(See: super_mario_bros._2, super_mario_bros._3, new_super_mario_bros.)

super_mario_bros. is trickier to do, since it can be easily mistaken as referring to the series as a whole, so it's probably better to leave super_mario_bros._(nes) for that one, to avoid misuse.

super_paper_mario is currently voided, but mimi_(paper_mario) alone shows that there are enough posts to justify having it.

Updated

To make myself clearer, I'm requesting this in the spirit of topic #46014 (Super Mario 64). Since each of these games has distinct unique artstyles, characters, items, power-up forms, and sceneries that make it worth grouping them by their respective titles.

Some visual examples:

Super Mario Bros. 2
post #1641717 post #1912297 post #5687760

Super Mario Bros. 3
post #4157543 post #359970 post #78208

This would be good for grouping each game's aesthetics and specificities, even taking in account the overlap of the more reoccurring elements.
Like, posts can have mayor_pauline and not get tagged super_mario_odyssey unless there is some cue from the game; as is yoshi and yoshi's_island (which has a very distinct style). Even if it's a character's introductory game, in the example of bowser_jr. and super_mario_sunshine.
So the same can follow here for the various different stuff each these titles has.
