Topic: Unalias Sissy from Femboy

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #12308 is pending approval.

remove alias sissy (0) -> femboy (182514)

Reason: This is one thing that has bothered me a little bit, while i appreciate condensing some of the tags down i personally think that this alias isn't a good fit. there are a lot of differences between Sissies and Femboys. Especially with behavior and portrayal

  • sissies are far more sexual than Femboys
  • almost always are the bottom
  • usually caged
  • typically have a smaller penis than most Femboys.

When i search for sissy and get aliased to Femboys, i don't find what i want to.

Examples:

I hope that this is reason enough to Unalias these two tags

I hope I did the bulk update request right, first time I have ever done this

I just don't think Femboys should be seen the same as sissies

where do the bubbles on the venn diagram lie, then?

can you provide any evidence that sissy is not, at the very least, a subset of femboy? because you've yet to do that. currently, the only posts you provided as evidence was that some femboys were not sissies, while describing traits that already exist in other tags.

(I would probably be happy with a subset) Sissies to my understanding is more of a relationship similar to a slave/dom, being a sissy is more focus on embarrassment and humiliation rather than dressing and acting presentable, basically I see Femboys as the standard and sissies as the extreme.
Kinda like female and bimbo(I think? I'm not good at explaining my view of it) sorry I'm all over the place

I think the main reason the "femboy" tag remains a source of friction is because we have too many tags aliased to it.

The "not a sissy" examples OP provided could easily be aliened to "twink" instead. "However, all "twinks" are aliased to "femboy" (via the eliminated "girly" tag) - even though there is overwhelming community support to remove that alias."*

We shouldn't be putting so many kinds of gender expression / sexual expression / body types in the same bucket. It feels wrong to me.

I'd probably say it's more that different people have different ideas of what exactly it encompasses, which is reflected in those aliases. That there's enough overlap with blurry lines that it's not worth trying to distinguish.

I agree there is some overlap, which can be solved in some cases by using two tags instead of one - this happens all the time in other situations. I think permitting variety is better than forcing a body type and unrelated kinds of gender / sexuality expression into a single tag that does not always fit. There is going to be controversy until this is reconsidered.

Sorry I just thought that a femboy is not the same as a sissy, I didn't know that everyone else didn't think so. I am just very particular about categorization and didn't think the two were the same

Nah I think they are separate as well, there are lots of more masculine men who dress like “sissies” in the kink sense.

Just don’t know how to realistic have it as a tag when sissy sub culture is a mix of sub/dom, humiliation, and cross dressing, with abdl mixed in on occasion

Yeah, I just felt a little frustrated and wanted to propose a change, though I did have an idea for a feature, saved searches basically making a tag search list into a preset you can open, though the coding required probably isn't worth it.

I haven't seen anyone say it's the same as femboy. Just that it isn't worth having a tag for it. Which could be said of many aliases.
Also, you might want to consider using sets for that kind of thing if you want a hassle-free experience.
Though imo, there are probably some sissy adjacent tags like chastity_cage that would consistently give you good results, as dba afish mentioned. Combined with other tags of course.

Thank you, I guess I just focused a bit too hard on it, DBA a fish did give me a genuinely good tip, sorry I posted this unalias request
