Topic: Clarification on Blender tag (and I suppose software tags more generally)

Posted under General

The blender_(artwork) tag's wiki description says "This tag is for artwork created, in whole or in part, using Blender". Suppose I download a model made by someone using Blender and use it to create an image in a non-Blender program. Should it have the blender_(artwork) tag, even though I haven't myself used Blender?

Any remnant of the Blender model will need to be on the final product to qualify for the blender_(artwork) tag.
For example, if the artist takes a screenshot of blank 3D models on Blender to help with character posing, then completely paints over the 3D models on another program, it should not be tagged as blender_(artwork).

But if I make a render using a model made in Blender, it should be tagged?

If you had rendered it fully on Blender, then yes.

If you had rendered it partially on Blender and later used another non-Blender program to render the background/other details, then yes.

If you had exported the model and then rendered it fully on another non-Blender program, then no.

Okay, I've edited the tag's wiki page to include those clarifications.
