Topic: Default image width bandwidth?

Posted under General

Hey! Big dummy here. I was wondering if setting the default image width lower in settings would use less bandwidth?

Sorry if this question's been asked before I'm not very good at navigating forums.

Setting the default image width to "Sample" will help you load pages faster, at the expense of quality.

Samples are scaled down versions of posts, the files will inevitably be smaller and take less bandwidth to download

what about the bandwidth used when loading the page? Will it help with that too?

Here is the updated question (again sorry) I know it'll load the page faster but will that be due to less bandwidth being used specifically? That's all I would like to confirm

No, the page will take the same amount of bandwidth as it was before you had changed the default image width.
