When I read forced_insertion my brain automatically assumes you're using something that isn't a body part, so I guess that's a theoretical difference. No idea if the tags reflect that tho

That was also my assumption, but to my knowledge we don't have similar separations for other "penetration" tags.

The penetration wiki says:

Penetration is the insertion of a body part (penis, tail, fist, tentacle, etc.), or object (dildo, aeroplane, etc.) into a character's body (anal, vaginal, oral) for sexual purposes.

As well, tags like penis_insertion are already aliased to penile_penetration, so there doesn't seem to be an effective difference between "insertion" and "penetration".

Fair
Makes me think if we should have a delineator for all penetration that involves not-a-bodypart. inb4 referral to Do We Have a Tag for That

completely tangential to this request, but I feel like we should start using insertion instead for the things that are doing the penetrating - so, penile_insertion rather than penile_penetration in order to more easily distinguish it from penis urethral_penetration which is kinda what "penile penetration" sounds like (and is occasionally mistagged as such)

does this mean that a character is being penetrated forcefully, or being forced to penetrate, or both? because we generally use "insertion" to refer the action of the penetrating party, while "penetration" to refer to the penetrated party. so, these tags, by those meanings, would be inverse to eachother.

and looking at the tag's current population, both scenarios seem somewhat prominent.

My "reverse forced" revision BUR seems relevant here.
