its used for drawings that are requests but it serves no real purpose here

We've also invalidated commission so this makes sense, +1.

Also occasionally mistagged for translation_request and such. Plus one.

Before I touch this, any thoughts on the translation -> translated alias? It seems like if people are mistagging request for translation_request, they may also be getting mistagged as translated.

Probably, but that's easy to catch with occasional translation_request translated. Well... as long as they get correctly tagged with translation_request at some point. No need to unalias it, afaics.
