Topic: *_only (clothing) tag implications BUR

The bulk update request #9688 is pending approval.

Reason: Most of these should be pretty self-explanatory and straightforward.

Some which could be added but I'm not sure about:

• imply swimwear_only -> swimwear (swimwear_only just seems like a bit of a weird tag to me but on the surface it makes sense)
• imply belt_only -> mostly_nude (I feel like this makes sense to me logically, but it might not fall within the wiki's current definition for mostly_nude of having nothing on the torso)

Edit: Regarding the duplicate implications for beanie_only the tag could be aliased away if desired after the implications are made (as suggested in one of the previous forum posts).

This would be a problem for ferals with a bracelet_only, causing them to be tagged nude when they shouldn't be (ferals are assumed nude, and get tagged clothed_feral when not). I also notice it getting used incorrectly a lot for bowser, when he's wearing spiked_bracelets on his wrists along with spiked_armbands on his upper arm and a spiked_collar (so not bracelet_only).

Alright, I removed that one. Is there anything else like that that would be an issue specifically with ferals? (I'll also note that I chose to implicate mostly_nude from thigh_highs_only since stockings_only already had that implication.)

Huh, so should all of boa_only, chastity_device_only, collar_only, eyewear_only, mask_only, and necklace_only have their nude implications removed, or are they restricted to non-ferals only

These should only be used on non-ferals, imo. When you'd tag collar_only it's because you'd usually be expecting the character to be wearing more than just a collar. A feral dog? That's pretty normal to just be wearing a collar and nothing else.

Unfortunately, people are going to tag these on ferals either way.

This seems like it would be unnecessarily restrictive. While you could make an argument for collar_only being redundant with a feral, other tags like glasses_only or bracelet_only would not be so redundant, and would be useful to distinguish between ferals wearing just glasses, or glasses with bracelets and/or necklaces, etc.

Tangentially, it seems a number of *_only tags are misused pretty often. bracelet_only collar_only is a somewhat common combo (before I cleaned them up, both tags referring to the same character), but who knows how many other *_only tags are used with a character wearing other things too.

I have been singing this song since oh so long ago, see topic #29983 & topic #34690.

The admin says we should not be tagging *_only on ferals (and should be using clothed_feral + aforementioned clothing).
However, unless there is a big red disclaimer on every *_only tag to NOT be tagging them on ferals, I don't think people will stop doing so.

Actually I do agree with the others here that it makes more sense to simply not use *_only tags with ferals since arguably the whole point of *_only tags is to imply some degree of nudity, but ferals are expected to be nude by default (and thus shouldn't be tagged nude). Perhaps I should re-add that particular implication to the BUR?
