There is another artist with 'Lycosa' in their username whose work is DNP and it's causing my work under the name 'Lycosa' to also be flagged as DNP. I only just began posting so I'm willing to change the username I'm posting under if needed, but I'd just really appreciate some help resolving this.

That artist's full name is LycosaMongrel. We can just have a mod change LycosaMongrel to DNP and put note on DNP list after removing Lycosa tag's implication?

The bulk update request #9486 is pending approval.

remove alias lycosamongrel (0) -> lycosa (0)

Reason: A different artist uses the Lycosa name. Trying to disambiguate it.
Followup: implicate lycosamongrel -> avoid_posting and DNP list edited. Edit Also: unimplicate lycosa -> avoid_posting

That alias probably should never have existed in the first place. Lycosa is just another name for a wolf spider.

We don't do DNP changes via BURs, only NotMeNotYou does dnp changes
This also won't change the dnp list, only he can change that list

Thanks, that's why I mentioned it. I figured to at least get the ball rolling, but NMNY needs to be contacted, anyways. Removed the implication so the alias can be undone.

Do you have a source for that claim? I can't see any evidence that the artist didn't only append the mongrel on twitter because simply Lycosa was taken at the time. Even the signature only ever says Lycosa.

It does seem that they go by only Lycosa at times, so I'm alright just picking a different username instead

Latest Twitter posts are signed LycosaMongrel (appears to have changed between September and December 2023 )

Though the issue highlights that it's not the greatest move to pick the same name as an existing artist.

Yeah, other thing I was considering was it was generic since it's like naming yourself "spider" or "dragon" or something. The fact that the artist used both the longer and shorter names, was why I thought that the longer name made more sense.

TBH, if I was the OP, I would have just used Lycosa49 or something. XD
