Topic: A question about uploading arts and pending approved

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

First off I wanna say I'm not very smart hahaha...

I was posting arts of Meatboom that doesn't have a lot here.

I usually just grabbed the PNG off the source and then posted the link.

A lot of those arts were replaced( Thank you whoever replaced for finding a better resolution btw! )

But my worry is. Am I in trouble hahaha... Its been a while since I can't post haha. It just says I need more posts approved but my fear is that I was ''blacklisted''

Could someone explain it to me?

You lost 12 upload slots due to your high volume of replaced posts, so then you used your remaining 4 upload slots to upload more posts. The system is working exactly as designed.

If we didn't want you to post we'd just set your upload limit to a value below 0.

The Upload Limit is working as intended. It is basically in place to "reward" and to "punish" users for their uploads.
Starting from a base limit of 10, you get an increase of 1 for every 10 approved posts and a decrease of 1 for every 4 mistakes you make (i.e., deleted/replaced/rejected posts).
If you keep making mistakes, then your upload limit will gradually dwindle to 0 and you become "blacklisted" from uploading.
After that, the only way to get out of that is to plea to an admin to reset to your limit (which they may or may not do, depending on the circumstances of your limit depleting).

In your case, you have 65 approved posts, 4 deleted posts, and 44 replaced posts. The 48 total deleted/replaced posts are negatively impacting your upload limit.
If you had looked into the deletion/replacement reasons, you will see that you were getting smaller/inferior quality images from unfavourable sources.
You can see howto:sites_and_sources to learn more info on the various sources and how to get the highest quality images from them.

Most of the time, you had taken the image straight from X/Twitter, which has been listed as an unfavourable source due to how they handle images and compresses them.
On the other hand, the people who replaced your posts got their images from sources like Newgrounds, Pixiv, and FurAffinity, which are relatively better with how they handle their images.

But yeah if you find an interesting artist on Twitter check their profile it they have a gallery on another pages (and check the artist page here on e621) and prioritize these, there are stuff like sketches, variations and different descriptions that are still valuable uploading/editing/linking.

It doesn't help that there is lots of stubborn artists that keep uploading art there so if you checked and they don't have anything on pixiv/FA go for it.

I see.... I'll try to get better sources I guess. I heard he has a server and he posts the OFFICIAL Source. so I think I can get the better quality pics.

I just hope I can keep posting

You can always try emailing or private messaging the artist directly to get the original unaltered files.

I managed to get in contact with him through his server. He even thanked me. I just hope nothing bad happens. I tend to be a little bad with images in general
