Topic: What constitutes a 'pointless or obnoxious' Tag edit?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I'm not pompous enough to argue the decision, but i received a negative tic on my account for 'Pointless and obnoxious' Tag editing:

'If we have to remove one more pointless or obnoxious tag edit by you, this account will be blocked until the next season of Firefly.'

That's fine I suppose, I could argue multiple different things about this, but I'd prefer to clarify what exactly makes a tag 'pointless and obnoxious' for my future reference? Don't want to get myself banned for trying to help after all.

Yeah, what Seven Twenty said. Adding tags that are not tags may be considered pointless, too.

I personally disagree, but you didn;t answer my question.

When a tag makes sense and brings people to similar content (for example, .gifs/flashes involving shaking butts) are they not serving their purpose?

While other tags like Hypnotic, which could mean a large variety of things, are perfectly fine?

I just want a clear definition of the difference.

( I also find your Profile picture pleasantly ironic NotMeNotYou. )

'shake it bake it....' Um, thing you said isn't a tag, and it is considered obnoxious due to the clinical language used in tagging.

Therefore, you tagged obnoxiously, and you deserved that negative record, in my opinion.

Honestly, your shake_it_bake_it_booty_quake_it tag is too long and too unintuitive to be useful. Yes, it serves it purpose of adequately describing someone shaking her rear but so does placing-ones-penis-inside-someone-else's-vagina to describe straight sexual intercourse.

Maybe if you could come up with something more practical (shorter) it would be appreciated.

Edit: Also the reason we don't tag female dogs as bitches; we try to be as srs bsns as possible.

Fair enough. 'too long and non-clinical' is enough of an explanation for me.

As I'm sure you all know, it was a reference to Symbionic Titan.

(and I never argue a Mod's decision unless I feel it was unjustified, and FB is known for being.. blunt.)

Question answered, thread's done. Thanks!
