Additionally wanted to add alias hypno_goggles -> hypnotic_goggles but it's being blocked by topic #45550

Disagreeing with several parts of this BUR.
First of all, topic #45550 makes the mass update for hypno_goggles completely unnecessary. hypnotic_goggles should also rather be aliased to hypnotic_visor than getting its own implications. (The one picture currently tagged as hypnotic_goggles might also be better suited for hypnotic_glasses.)

Second, mass updating these tags away just to give them implications afterwards doesn’t make sense. If they are distinct enough (like you said) we would need to re-add them to posts, so why not clean up the posts manually to begin with?

Also, why to hypnotic_headgear? The helmet is the only one of these tags I see actually being a type of headgear, the others are either eyewear or are too variable to always be called headgear (mask and visor).

If we want to avoid tag bloat why not make implications directly to hypnotic_device ? The tag is both good as an umbrella term and I found it useful for tagging the more niche/outlandish machines artists might come up with. This way we also get around the discussion if headgear/headwear counts as clothing or accessory.
I also want to add at this point that there can be an overlap between hypnotic_visor and hypnotic_helmet. A visor can be part of a helmet after all.
