sprite is another word for certain types of faeries and pixies, so I think a disambiguation is warranted. "Sprite" as art/animation, though, doesn't necessarily mean pixel art; it can, but more generally refers to rendered 2D objects. Most pre-3D games were made using sprites, regardless of resolution.

Really the only mistags I saw were using it to refer to the soda. At most aliasing both sprite tags to sprite_(art) should be enough.

it's basically a wastebasket for the most ordinary pixel art, aliasing, and even anti-aliasing stuff that gives off the aura of being an asset used in the video games. i think aliasing all sprite tags to sprite (disambiguation) is a better choice.
