create implication art_evolution (11) -> art_progression (60)
create implication art_time-lapse (44) -> art_progression (60)
Reason: I hope I'm not overstepping any bounds by doing it, but I created two tags to differentiate between the two ways the tag art progression is used. As the wiki defines it (as of writing):
Posts showing artwork as it's being created by the artist themselves. This can be shown as either a step-by-step sequence in a still image, an animated slideshow of said sequence, or a recording of the art being made to completion.
While this definition applies to most posts, there are some posts that use this tag outside said definition. These were made in parts over the span of years, as opposed to being drawn within a relatively short time. I divided these two uses into the two new tags I made, defining and providing examples below.
art evolution - art progression in terms of style, over long periods of time (or at least appearing to).
- Example 1: post #4169507 illustrates the evolution of the artist kt80's style by comparing two drawings of their character Chicken Nugget from 2021 and 2023. This is relative to the artist, and not necessarily has to be the same subject.
- Example 2: post #2817054 illustrates, through style emulation, the evolution of the design of Tom and Jerry's Jerry Mouse from 1940 to 1958, in actually being drawn at once fl. 2021. This is relative to the subject of the art and not the artist(s).
art time-lapse - art progression in terms of completion, over short periods of time.
- Example 1: post #2752302 documents through .webm the creation of post #2752187. The viewer can watch the individual strokes being made until it is done.
- Example 2: post #1609540 documents through .gif the creation of post #1609542. It is a slideshow of different unfinished staged ending with the completed artwork.
- Example 3: post #1559933 documents through multiple images three stages of development to the final image on the left. It is a static form of what animated time-lapses present.
With this BUR, I also propose keeping the art progression tag and not disambiguating it, because these child tags are both pertaining to the progression of artwork (just in different ways).
