The bulk update request #7362 is active.

create alias 5_nails (5) -> nails (52020)
create alias 4_nails (6) -> nails (52020)
create alias 3_nails (1) -> nails (52020)

Reason: I don't see a reason we'd need nail count tags. They seem like unnecessary bloat, as the nail count is equivalent to the finger count.

I believe this argument also applies to the claw tags, though they've already got an implication chain that would need to be undone. What are your thoughts on that?

If it matches the number of fingers/toes, it's unnecessary tag bloat - but what about cases where it doesn't? Though it would probably be better to have some other tag specifically for a mismatched number of nails that won't be accidentally misused.

This one's a little trickier, but it's probably just as useless. Do we count the dewclaw as a toe too, or is that just a claw?

If we counted it, how do we tag a feral cat/dog which has 18 toes? Simultaneously tagging 5_toes for the front and 4_toes for the back?

But then 4_toes 4_claws 5_claws wouldn't be a better solution either.

The dewclaw is technically their thumb, but even with that being the case I'm more inclined to have the tagging of it as subjective. If someone makes it big enough to look like a proper appendage, it should go towards the total count of toes, but if they make it tiny and only the claw is visible, then it should be tagged separately from the rest of the appendages. 4_toes dewclaw as such
