It's a genericized trademark in the same manner that kleenex, velcro, hoover, etc. are. I would say alias it, but it seems to refer to the ones that are shaped like ([o]     |  |     [/o]) with the white gauze in the middle rather than the type that is just a long strip that you can roll around someone like post #251998 (I believe they also call these ace bandages), which makes it a bit more distinct.

The oblong ones are bandages, and the wrappings are bandage_wraps.
